Memorial Day Weekend   May 23-26, 2008

Imagine paddling a canoe 70 miles in one day, challenging the elements and testing your endurance levels against the unpredictable Susquehanna River in upstate New York.   You have just entered the General Clinton Canoe Regatta!

What Happens During the Weekend
The General Clinton Canoe Regatta Weekend attracts more than 3,000 paddlers to 50 races in one- or two-person classes on the Susquehanna River. The Regatta culminates Memorial Day with a 70-mile endurance race from Cooperstown to Bainbridge, the world’s longest single-day flat water marathon canoe race, part of the North American Triple Crown of Canoeing.

Past entrants included world-class athletes like US Olympic Gold Medalist Greg Barton, 28-time winner Canadian Serge Corbin, and racers from all over the United States, all over Canada, and from many countries, competing for over $25,000 in cash and prizes.

What Awaits You After The Race
We have plenty of entertainment awaiting Young and Old.  There are rides, food stands, live bands and a variety of shows for you to enjoy.  Fireworks Display Saturday and Sunday night..
